The characteristics of growth and development and stigma vitality of 4 new bred indica male sterile lines were observed. The results showed that 4 CMS lines all exhibited excellent agronomical characters, fertility stability and self-sterility duo to using dark envelopes. Among the 4 CMS lines, the highest stigma exsertion rate of 412A reached 89.2%, 558A and 698A were the same to control II-32A and both more than 83%. The stigma vitality of 412A maintained the longest time and dropped slowly. Moreover, the other breeding criterions of 4 new CMS lines were all better, and their main agronomical characters more excellent than II-32A, showing that they had a certain value.

Characteristics of Growth and Development of an Indica Three-line CMS Line Quan 5A with Mid- and Early-maturity
WANG Tian-Sheng, HUANG Rong-Yu, CHEN Bing-Fa, CHEN Hui-Qing, XIE Wang-You, XIE Shao-He
The characteristics of growth and development of an indica CMS line Quan 5A were studied. The results showed that when Quan 5A was sown in the beginning of April, the growth stage from sowing to initial flowering of Quan 5A was 76d, and one day longer than Zhanshan 97A, belonging to mid-and early-maturity indica three-line CMS line. The number of leaves from main stem of Quan 5A was14, and the same to Zhanshan 97A. Moreover, Quan 5A can harvest more yield in both seed propagation and production in virtue of its traits of excellent sterility and flowering behavior.

Effects of Different Methods of Fertilizer Application and Cultivation on Ratooning Growth of Low-stubble Rice
HUANG Shui-Ming
We systemically studied the effects of low stubble harvest, different fertilizer application ratios before and after the harvest and different nitrogen application rate after the harvest, different planting methods, field density, the density within the plant to study fertilization and planting methods on rice ratooning growth. The results of different bud and tiller fertilizer application ratios based on orthogonal experiment showed that low-stubble ratoon rice did not apply the fertilizer of bud promotion but only tiller fertilizer before harvest. The optimal nitrogen application rate for tiller promotion was 12kg/667m2 under the medium soil fertility and the fixed N∶P∶K ratio of 1∶0.3∶0.5. The methods of seedling cultivation and field farming suggested that throwing rice seedling from plastic plate was the advantage of increasing effective ratooning tiller rate in the second crop. According to the effects of field density and the density within plant on grain yield, the optimal planting density was 24000 plant per 667m2 and one grain seedling of each plant.

Potassium Accumulation and Transportation Characteristics and Rational Application of Potato
ZHAO Ya-Jing, LI Xiao-Ping, JIANG Zhao-Wei-*, LI Yi-Zhen
This paper discusses potassium fertilizer test using the winter potatoes in year 2009~2010 at longhai. The results show that potassium absorbability increases with the increasing of potassium rate; potato has the greatest K uptake rate at prometaphase, after anthesis K uptake rate from soil decreases gradually, most of K that potato tuber needed from the existing K output of stem and leaf, the economic K application is determined to be 14kg with an expected fresh root yield of 2500~2700kg per 667m2, seed tuber virus-free or not has obviously different resistances to chloride stress, in production, according to the seed tuber virus-free or not to determine the application of chlorine-containing chemical fertilizers.

Cultivation Experiment of Direct Sowing-ratoon Rice and High-yielding Cultural Techniques of Direct Sowing Rice
CAI Bao-Wang-1, XIE Xin-Wang-1, ZHANG De-Shun-1, LIN Sheng-Wang-1, WU Zu-Xing-1, JIANG Zhao-Wei-2*, CHEN Shuang-Long-3
The cultural techniques of direct sowing-ratoon rice were studied with five rice hybrids as experimental material. The arrangement of main rice sowing date should be based on growth-development characteristics of varieties, and the suitable flowering stage of ratoon rice was arranged before mid-September. The tillering capacity of rice varieties was different, which affected panicle number of ratoon rice. Therefore, the appropriate varieties of direct sowing-ratoon rice should have strong tillering ability. The height of rationing panicles locating node was related to variety characteristics. The key cultivation techniques for direct sowing rice lied in ensuring uniform seedlings, controlling weeds, preventing lodge and controlling diseases & pests.

Analysis of Yield Components for High Yield of Rice
ZHAO Ya-Jing, LI Xiao-Ping, JIANG Zhao-Wei
This paper surveys yield components under the different yield level of hybrid rice “Teyou 63”, The results reveals that under the cultivation conditions in south Fujian at present, spike number per square meter and grains per spike become the main factors determining yield, the contribution rate of product of them(the total grain number per square meter) is more than 95% for yield. And while the yield per 667m2 are 500、600、700 and 800kg, the total grain number per square meter are 2.9 million, 3.5 million, 4.1 million and 4.7 million.

Rice-growing Climate Ecology and High-yield Cultivation Techniques of the Basin Surrounding Wuyi Mountain
WU Shao-Hong-1, ZHAO Ya-Jing-2, WU Hua-Qin-3, WEN Gui-Fang-3, ZHOU Meng-3
The climate of the basin surrounding Wuyi mountain scenic area is the subtropical climate. Period of safety growth of rice is 235d and the accumulated temperature is 5368℃, so it can be double crops in a year. The quantity of heat for planting high-yield late-maturing hybrid rice varieties showed more than single crop but less than two crops. Timely early sowing can modulate the flower filling period of single cropping rice and the first crop of ratoon rice to match high value period of light and temperature in July and August, make the second crop to avoid chilling damage of early autumn. This is a key countermeasure for increasing rice production and income. Corresponding high-yielding cultivation techniques of rice include the selection of good cultivar, rational fertilization and water management, the promotion of mechanized production, and prevention and control of diseases, insect and weed.

Health and Nutrition Function of Rice Water
ZHENG Xiang-Hua, YE Ning, HONG Chun-Yan, LU Li-Bin, YE Xin-Fu-*
Rice water as the accessory substance of rice contains rich water-soluble protein, free amino acid (FAA), mineral composition and vitamin. Rice water is a kind of nutritional health products which are suitable for the people of all ages. It has some efficacy, such as stopping diarrhea、curing constipation、dispelling the effects of alcohol、fortifying the masculine function、treating gastritis、nourishing the stomach、improving eyesight、tonifying the kidney、diuresis、curing gynecopathy、suiting for efficacy-enhancing ingredient and retarding the insomnia. The way of cooking rice water was briefly introduced in this paper.
